Site terms

Terms of Service

These terms describe the conditions for using Xournal Wiki as an independent information and download-link website.

Effective date: August 14, 2026

1. What this site provides

Xournal Wiki provides English explanations, platform guides, public links and practical workflow notes about Xournal and Xournal++. The site is not the Xournal++ application, does not provide paid technical support and does not guarantee that every guide matches every project version or operating system configuration.

2. Official download destinations

Download buttons are intended to point to official project release assets or official documentation. Before installing, verify the version, filename, architecture, operating-system compatibility and destination domain. A third-party destination can change its availability or policies after a link is published.

Xournal Wiki does not host modified, cracked or repacked Xournal++ installers. Do not bypass operating-system security warnings or install an executable merely because it uses a familiar filename.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for choosing a suitable build, maintaining backups, checking downloaded files, protecting your device, preserving PDF sources and deciding whether a workflow is appropriate for your documents. Important notebooks should include the editable .xopp file, its PDF background when required and a separate exported PDF.

Guides are general information, not a promise that a setting will work on your particular driver, tablet, distribution, printer or PDF. Test changes on a copy before altering a valuable notebook.

4. Intellectual property

Xournal, Xournal++, their logos, code, documentation and project assets belong to their respective owners. This site does not claim ownership of those names or imply endorsement. Site text, layout and original branding belong to Xournal Wiki unless another owner is identified.

You may use the public guides for personal and educational reference. Do not copy the site in a way that misrepresents affiliation, creates a deceptive download mirror or suggests that Xournal Wiki is the official project.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the site to distribute malware, scrape or overload the service, interfere with security controls, impersonate the project, send abusive support requests or use links to violate another party's rights. Automated access should respect normal technical limits and must not disrupt visitors or hosting providers.

6. External services and links

The site links to GitHub, the Xournal++ documentation, the original Xournal project and other third-party services. Those services control their own content, availability, downloads, cookies, privacy practices and terms. A link is provided for convenience and does not constitute a warranty or endorsement of every statement on the destination page.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, correct, pause or remove pages, links, download data and features at any time. A release asset may be renamed or deleted by its project owner. We do not promise uninterrupted access, a particular page ranking, a specific download speed or permanent availability of any external file.

8. Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties that the information is complete, current for every environment, error-free, secure or fit for a particular purpose. Software installation and file conversion carry risks that you should evaluate before proceeding.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Xournal Wiki and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss arising from access to the site, a download destination, an installed application, a missing file, a corrupted notebook, loss of data, device damage or reliance on a guide. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so the applicable limit may vary.

10. Contact and updates

Questions about a page or link can be sent to support@xournal.wiki. We may update these terms by changing the effective date and page content. Continued use of the site after an update means the revised terms apply to future use to the extent permitted by law.
